This map is for everyone who’s lifestyle involves frequent road tripping to outdoors destinations. It is an all in one resource for outdoors enthusiasts who live in the West.
The map is firstly a beautiful portrayal of the physical geography of the Western United States. It shows all land cover types – forest, shrubland, grassland, cultivated land, wetland, developed land, and even barren land. There is just a hint of 3D elevation coloring which makes the mountain ranges stand out. There is also red coloring showing the red dirt areas of the southwest states.
To complete the map with human geography, it shows 1605 incorporated cities and a handful of unincorporated towns.

While I was making the map I decided to put the mountain ranges of eastern Nevada at the top of my new trip wish list. The physical geography there is compelling.
